I persuaded my significant other that we needed to go for a drive and find a local café out in the countryside, that we could make ‘our regular’.

Having done a Google search, we came across The Pantry, independent Café and Kitchen, which was located about 5 miles away in the beautiful and picturesque village of Yattendon, just North of the M4.

There is a small, free, car park located as you enter the village from the south. The Café is a 1 to 2 minute walk from there.

Being a lovely sunny morning, we decided we would sit outside in the glorious sunshine, at one of the many tables they have. We were there for tea, coffee and one of the produce that they are famous for, CAKE!!

Service was very friendly and our order was taken quickly and efficiently, and we were served within minutes. I ordered English Breakfast Tea and a slice of their St. George’s Day Cake, which was like a superior Victoria sponge. I am not great for describing things, one of the perks of having HF Autism, but I can honestly say that the cake was absolutely delicious, with plenty of filling, icing, raspberries and succulent sponge. If I wasn’t counting the calories, I could easily have gone back in and ordered a second slice.

Overall, we spent a good 40 minutes at The Pantry and I can definitely say, with 100% certainty, that we will be going back, and on a regular basis. It is wonderful to have this delightful Café and we hope to continue enjoying your delicious delights for many years to come.
